Why Coco?
Gabrielle Bonheur, best known as “Coco Chanel” was a business woman and a French fashion designer, who ruled over Parisian haute couture for almost six decades. She became founder and namesake of the Chanel brand and was credited in the post-World War I era with liberating women from the uncomfortable clothes and the constraints of the “corseted silhouette”.
As a result, she popularized a sporty, casual chic as the feminine standard of style. Among her now-classic innovations were the Chanel suit, the quilted purse, costume jewelry, and the “little black dress.”
